Our team would love to welcome you and share the beautiful venue and surroundings that have made Doxford Barns one of the most stunning venues to marry in the North East.

Our Venue

The Great Barn

The Great Barn is steeped in history but tastefully renovated to cater for up to 180 guests, cocooned around a spectacular oak frame, beautifully up lit by mood lighting. The perfect venue to enjoy your sumptuous wedding breakfast and to dance the night away on our spacious dance floor. The Great Barn has stunning south facing views across the Northumberland countryside. After your wedding breakfast there is ample space for up to 250 guests. This is an idyllic space for photographers with all areas softly lit, allowing for wonderful opportunities to capture your whole day.

The Baldy Reiver Bar

This wonderful bar is the larger of the two and is situated within the spacious Great Barn, adjacent to the 18th century Cart Shed. The Baldy Reiver bar is fully stocked and has total of 53 limited edition festoon lights, providing the barn with a warming glow. We also have a variety of specialist vodkas and gins on offer at this bar only.

The Cart Shed

The Cart Shed is a beautifully appointed 18th century stone reception room, which is a perfect area for an intimate ceremony. The Cart Shed has a wine and spirits bar giving your wedding party a chance to relax and enjoy every moment of your special day.

The Forge

Leading from the ‘‘The Cart Shed’’ you will find ‘’The Forge’’ a further reception room. The Forge contains the original bellows and fireplace, a perfect area for your friends and family to sit in comfort.

The Turnbull Bar

Here at Doxford Barns we strive to provide the best customer service possible. The Turnbull Bar offers a wide range of competitively priced beverages to meet the needs of your wedding party, along with a 2am licence for alcohol and entertainment.

Threshing Hall

The 18th century Threshing Hall boasts a rustic appearance with original oak beams and classic stone work. This spacious venue can host up to 150 guests and is a magnificent area for civil ceremonies.

Doxford Lake

The lake is situated ½ mile from The Great Barn and is a stunning backdrop for your wedding photographs no-matter what season!

The Farmhouse Lawn

Perhaps you could use Doxford’s beautiful lawns for your ceremony. The lawn is an ideal area to share canapés and drinks with friends and family, before retiring to your chosen venue for your wedding breakfast.

Accommodation

Doxford Barns has exclusive use of seven tastefully renovated farm cottages just 200 yards from the barn venue itself. The cottages are made up of a mixture of 3, 2 and 1 bedroom cottages all in a stone built terrace row, once used to house the farm labourers that worked the land. The cottages have comfy sitting rooms with wood burning stoves, fully equipped kitchens (one with Aga) as well as tastefully appointed bathrooms. In total all 7 cottages can sleep up to 40 people. To maintain exclusive use of the farm, we ask that the accommodation is booked with the venue.
